Community Power offers comprehensive housing assessments for Indigenous communities. We examine each home thoroughly and provide key insights into its energy performance, state of repair, and any safety or health issues in the home. During each assessment, our team engages residents to understand any longstanding concerns and deficiencies that they’ve been living with to include in potential repairs and to get a sense of common housing concerns throughout the community.
To streamline our assessment process, we developed a proprietary software tool called EEthos™. This platform allows our team to collect and analyze housing data to provide an accurate and comprehensive assessment of a home's energy efficiency opportunities, in addition to identifying concerns relating to structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or other conditions.
Our assessments are “comprehensive” because they analyze more than energy consumption. We account for potential health impacts from common issues such as mould, poor ventilation, and inadequate insulation, as well as outdated electrical systems and structural issues. By addressing the true state of every home, Community Power's assessments enable strategic action aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in Indigenous communities. Our holistic approach not only saves the community money by reducing energy bills, it also puts communities on a path to creating healthier, safer, and more sustainable living environments.
